HUNTING AND FISHING
The expansive forest areas with their high population of game (wild boar and red deer) present a challenge for every ambitious hunter. Autumn and winter are peak seasons here. Fishermen can indulge in their hobby at the numerous rivers and lakes.
Entering the country with a weapon is quite simple. Weapon importation can be taken care of at the border. The fee is around 25 euro per weapon. The extensive hunting areas are state and association owned.
Hunts are lead by expert local hunters who all speak a bit of German. The buck and mouflon sheep hunts are particularly enjoyable. Red deer and wild boar are also plentiful for the hunt.
Pheasant or duck hunting with a high expected rate of success are also offered.

Pheasant hunting enjoys a rich tradition in the Czech Republic. Around 900,000 are bagged annually. This shows the importance of the pheasant in this country.
Pheasant husbandry has a long tradition in Moravia. Even English hunting parties come here to hunt pheasant, a significant fact, since in English is the home to some of the most elegant pheasant hunting in the world.
Large hunts of flushed pheasants can bring bags of up to 1,000 birds. The king pheasant which has a particularly long tail and is popular prey, can also be found in the Czech Republic. The shooting fee in generally twice as high as that for normal pheasants.
