Arrival
1. by plane
A: to Prague
Germanwings (www.germanwings.de) flies from Cologne and Stuttgart and Easyjet (www.easyjet.com ) from Dortmund to Prague daily. From Prague it is best to rent a car and drive via Brno and Olomouc. The distance is around 400 km on the motorway, driving time 3.5 to 4 hours.
B: to Vienna
Germanwings (www.germanwings.de) from Cologne and Stuttgart and Air Berlin(www.airberlin.de) have a number of daily flights to Vienna. It is around 310 km from Vienna to Ropice, of which 89 km are on country roads, the rest on the motorway: total driving time around 3.5 hours.
C: to Bratislava
Bratislava is around 50 km to the east of Vienna. Sky Europe (skyeurope.com) flies there from Cologne. A motorway takes you to Brno from Bratislava, from where you can continue as if coming from Vienna.
Arrival
D: to Ostravá
Lufthansa flies to Ostravá daily from Munich. Or one can fly with CSA to Vienna and then continue on to Ostravá. CSA flies this route 5 times a day. In Prague one needs at least 45 minutes to change planes.
It is also possible to fly to Prague with an inexpensive carrier and only book the connecting flight to Ostravá with CSA. From the Ostravá Airport it is only about 38 km to Ropice: driving time 30 minutes. Rental cars are less expensive in Ostravá than in Prague. The flight to Ostravá is the most comfortable way to arrive and involves minimal additional costs.
2. Arrival by car
From West Germany via Frankfurt, Warburg, Nordberg, Amberg, boarder crossing Rosado, Pilsner, Prague, Brno, ?esk?T?ín, Ropice. Distance from Frankfurt is around 920 km (all on the motorway).
From Berlin, Dresden, Prague, Brno, ????, distance around 720 km (around 50 km between Dresden and Prague on country roads).
